On the Air

Frank and I have decided that we like listening to preaching on the radio. Are we finally growing up? We starting listening to a station on the Moody Broadcasting Network that plays some great stuff. I can tell how my morning routine is going by what is on the radio. I usually turn it on each day in time to hear Chip Ingram. By the time Tony Evans comes on I need to be getting in the shower. If I'm not finished drying my hair in time to hear Ravi Zacharias, there is a good chance I will be late for work. It's as good as a clock.

My favorite find isn't actually preaching, it's their program over the noon hour called Midday Connection. Good hosts, great content, and it's always something different. A while back they hosted a program with a guy named Tom Davis who wrote the book Red Letters. He talks about what our lives would look like if we really LIVED the things that Jesus told us to do. Especially caring for widows and orphans in their time of need. He's done a lot of relief work in Africa and other parts of the world with an organization called Children's Hope Chest. It's given me a lot to think about... especially as Frank and I talk about our own purpose and mission in life.

So I highly recommend Tom Davis's book and his blog. If you have a chance, check it out.

Hi Em~ That is funny that you mentioned Chip Ingram b/c I just started reading a book by him called "God: As He longs for you to know Him." It has been really good for me at this stage in life. It would be fun to hear him regularly on the radio...what kind of stuff does he talk about? I also like listening to sermon downloads from Rob Bell -- have you heard anything by him? Thanks for the info on Tom Davis's website -- I'll check it out! Love ya.

Tom Davis's website is awesome! Thanks for the link. Did you watch the Sarah Groves video -- it made me cry. Someday I see myself there...

Wow, the Sara Groves video is new and it is really good. It's the faces of the children that make me realize - so much of what we worry about from day to day doesn't even matter.
I'm glad you enjoyed the link... I'd like to get my hands on a few of his books.
